Microsoft Fabric for Beginners: Build a Lakehouse End-to-End

Live workshops are exclusively available to Maven Pro subscribers. To register for this workshop you'll first need to create an account.
Microsoft Fabric is quickly becoming a central part of the modern data stack, but getting started can feel overwhelming when you're staring at workspaces, lakehouses, pipelines, and semantic models for the first time. Knowing where to click is one thing. Knowing how the pieces fit together to form an actual end-to-end pipeline is another.
In this 90-minute session, you'll walk away with hands-on experience building a complete data pipeline in Microsoft Fabric. Using a real-world dataset, you'll ingest raw CSV data, structure it through Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers using a Medallion Architecture pattern, and finish with a semantic model ready to connect to Power BI.
What you'll learn
Navigate the Microsoft Fabric UI and set up a Workspace and Lakehouse
Start with a short UI tour so you know where everything lives before building your first Workspace and Lakehouse in Fabric.
Ingest raw CSV data using Data Factory pipelines
Build a working pipeline that brings raw source data into your Lakehouse, the foundation of every downstream layer.
Build Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers using the Medallion Architecture
Apply the industry-standard pattern for progressively refining raw data into clean, analytics-ready tables.
Create a semantic model that connects to Power BI
Package your Gold layer into a semantic model that's ready for reporting in Power BI.
Who should join this workshop?
Data Engineers who want hands-on practice with Microsoft Fabric end-to-end
Data Analysts and BI Developers who want to understand how their reporting layer is built upstream
Solution Architects evaluating Fabric for their organization's data platform
Anyone curious about Microsoft Fabric who wants a structured first project
Prerequisites
A free Azure account, with a Microsoft Fabric 60-day free trial enabled
Familiarity with data concepts like tables, files, and pipelines is helpful but not required
This is a live, hands-on session and active participation is expected
